The Venus Laowa 25mm f2.8 2.5-5x Ultra-Macro Lens is a great lens for close-up and ultra-macro photography. It is compatible with all EF mount Canon cameras and can also be used on Sony A6000. The nominal focus distance is 1.5" from the end of the lens for all magnification settings and f stops. The aperture numbers on the lens are exaggerated and not accurate, and it does not have vibration reduction or electronic contacts. However, it still has some usefulness for experienced photographers who can work within its limited feature set. The lens is made of all metal Construction and is well-made. It produces very sharp images that require a flash to light up subjects. A focus stacking rail would also help if you have that type of software. It is a great value for the price.
