ALFA Network Editorial Review

The Alfa Network AWUS1900 802.11ac USB Wi-Fi Adapter has received mixed reviews from customers. Some were happy with how it worked perfectly on their GL-MV1000W openwrt Linux without any extra driver fuss, compared to a previous Wi-Fi Adapter that gave them a headache. It has great range and is dual-band, making it perfect for authorised penetration testing using Kali Linux. It can be easily placed into Promiscuous and Monitor mode. On the downside, one customer received an incomplete package and suspected it might be refurbed. Others felt the marketing was overstated, and it did not give the range they expected. Its USB 3 cradle is unstable and needs to be bluetacked down. Overall, it is a great Wi-Fi Adapter for Linux users and those interested in pen testing, but customers should be careful when buying as some packages may arrive incomplete.
