The 4 channel DP-4 dosing pump is a cost-effective solution for dosing alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium to a reef tank, according to a customer. The product's peristaltic pumps are not strong, hence can't pull or push very far. The tubing required for the dosing is a standard one with 1/4" airline tubing. The seals from the rollers inside the pump, if not sealing, can cause the pump to siphon in the wrong direction. Customers had some complaints, especially around reliability and accuracy of the pump, with some of them indicating that the product does not maintain settings once the power goes off, and it does not have alternate-day dosing settings. Other customers indicate that the pumps are cleverly designed but otherwise unreliable, and prone to gravity feeding despite the setup. Additionally, while some customers love the product for reducing the effort in dosing their tanks, some claim the product is a complete waste of money. However one customer maintains six of these on aquariums and is happy with them after calibration.
