The Coolaroo Aurora Pergola is an excellent addition to any backyard or patio space. The pergola measures 9'10" x 9'10" and has a light-filtering canopy that blocks up to 90% of UV rays, protecting you from the sun's harmful effects. The aluminum frame is a soft black color that complements dark brown furnishings. The pergola is also available in other colors such as smoke, navy, and charcoal. The internal height clearance of the pergola is around 7 feet, with the height to the ground varying from 6.5 feet to the fully extended canopy height. The pergola has a footprint of almost 100" between the inside of each leg and an aluminum frame, making it sturdy enough to withstand mild weather. However, the deck fasteners need to be bolted directly to the flooring, and retracting the shade is recommended in moderate to heavy winds if the pergola cannot be secured on a concrete patio without drilling. The assembly of the pergola is a bit of a challenge due to the poorly written and drawn instructions, but once assembled, it looks great and is solid and well-engineered, except for the pre-drilled holes on pillars lacking a threaded hole. The cost of the pergola is worth it, and the customer service is excellent, with the company accommodating a replacement hardware shipment promptly.
