Hideki is a visually stunning and disturbing film with a blend of Suspiria and Blade Runner. The kill scenes are mesmerising and psychedelic with an eerie dream-like feel in the first hour that fades into a more gruesome horror. The social commentary on society's obsession with thinness is cleverly portrayed through the overweight serial killer protagonist who is entangled in a religious murder cult's twisted plots. Unearthed Films have done an excellent job providing a beautiful Blu-Ray edition of the movie.
