The Sparkfun ESP32 Thing is an easy to use development board that has additional built-in features like a temperature sensor and a LED. It is nicely documented, works well with Arduino and other microcontrollers, and can be used in a wide range of projects. It can be programmed using a micro USB cable and connects to Wi-Fi networks. The battery header afford a user the permission to charge suitable LiPo batteries while the board is powered using the USB cable. However, some Consumers found the board difficult to connect to Wi-Fi and encountered some issues while programming it. The battery socket is wired backwards and can cause damage to both the board and the battery if plugged in wrongly. One purchaser reported the board breaking after a few weeks of use. Despite its minor issues, the Sparkfun ESP32 Thing is still a great development board.
