Answer: According to the manufacturer's website, the claim is that their patented formulation provides the no drip, so I don't believe there is an additive that makes it true but rather the overall formulation. Afrin does seem to be a thicker, stickier substance. Overall, I find Afrin more effective than any other brand so it's been a few years since I have tried others, but I would say the others I have tried have been a less thick and more watery substance. I had not had problems with drip using them though either. -
