Can someone tell me how high they come up the calf?
Answer: The boot is approximately 7 inches from the bottom of the heel. I would say this is not a mid calf boot. It sits slightly above the ankle bone. More like a blundstone boot. -

Are they waterproof?
Answer: I would say they are more water-resistant. They are leather boots afterall and probably would not withstand a prolonged soaking. With that said, they are well made and comfortable. They have a slim profile around the ankle and therefore are not too bulky under my half chaps. In my opinion, they are a good value for the money. I'm quite happy with these boots. -
