This propane smelter claims to be a kiln with a crucible capacity of 6KG or 650ML which is capable of melting metals such as copper, silver, gold, and aluminum. Depending on the purpose of use, either propane or electric furnace can be chosen. However, the furnace has a maximum temperature of approximately 2,300°F which is not suitable for smelting steel. Despite a few positive reviews that claimed the product worked as advertised, there were many more negative reviews with complaints that the product was of bad quality, a fire hazard, and misleading. Several reviewers reported that the torch portion that connects to the kiln would not screw right and stay flush, causing the threading to strip out and the propane and fire to escape from the gap. This created issues such as backfire and fire hazard. Also, the gloves and tongs are of low quality and difficult to use. Another common issue reported by reviewers is that the product was unable to reach the desired temperature, even after a lot of propane usage. In addition, the product lacks pourer tongs that would make it easier to hold the crucible and pour the molten aluminum. The product also does not come with good support help from the manufacturer. In conclusion, this product is not recommended due to the many negative reviews of bad quality, fire hazard, and misleading information.
