Customer Questions & Answers

  • Question: What materials are used in the Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board?

Answer: The Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board is crafted from high-quality wood, ensuring a natural feel and excellent grip while training. The use of sustainably sourced materials not only provides durability but also enhances your training experience by simulating real rock conditions. This makes it an ideal choice for climbers aiming to build finger strength and technique—perfect for home gyms, outdoor enthusiasts, or those preparing for bouldering competitions.
  • Question: Can the Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board be used outdoors?

Answer: Yes, the Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board can be used outdoors, but it's essential to protect it from the elements. While the wood is durable, exposure to moisture and direct sunlight can affect its longevity. For outdoor use, you might consider fitting it in a sheltered area like a garage or under a porch. This board is perfect for climbers who want to practice on-the-go during camping trips or in backyard setups, ensuring you keep up your training routine anywhere.
  • Question: How does the Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board compare to plastic training boards?

Answer: The Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board offers a different tactile experience compared to plastic boards. Wood provides a more realistic grip akin to natural rock, helping climbers develop better hand strength and finger positioning. While plastic holds can be less forgiving on the skin, the wooden texture of this training board minimizes injuries and enhances comfort during extensive training sessions. For serious climbers, this choice recognizes the importance of replicating outdoor conditions in home training setups.
  • Question: What types of exercises can I perform with the Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board?

Answer: The Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board is versatile, allowing you to perform a range of exercises, including pull-ups, lock-off training, and various grip strength exercises. It features different grip textures and sizes, catering to diverse training needs. Whether you're focusing on improving your grip for bouldering, enhancing upper body strength, or training for sport climbing, this board provides ample options. Athletes can customize their workouts according to their skill levels, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced climbers.
  • Question: Is the Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board suitable for beginners?

Answer: Absolutely! The Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board is designed to accommodate climbers of all skill levels, including beginners. Its ergonomic design and various grip holds allow new climbers to safely build strength and technique in a controlled environment. With smaller, less strenuous grips available, beginners can gradually increase their strength without overwhelming themselves. It serves as a perfect tool for those looking to develop a strong foundation in climbing training at home.
  • Question: How do I properly install the Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board?

Answer: Installing the Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board is straightforward. It comes with mounting hardware designed for secure wall attachment. Begin by choosing an appropriate location, preferably a wall that can withstand the force exerted during use. Follow the included instructions for the best mounting angle, which can vary according to your training needs. Securely fix the board into place, ensuring it's stable to maximize training effectiveness. This setup is perfect for home gyms, ensuring your training space is as effective as possible.
  • Question: What makes the Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II unique in the market?

Answer: The Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II stands out due to its premium wood construction combined with thoughtful design features tailored for climbers. Unlike many plastic boards, this training board offers a natural feel that mimics rock holds, helping users develop finger strength and sensitivity. Additionally, its various grip options cater to a wide range of training scenarios, from endurance to explosive power. This comprehensive approach makes it an excellent choice for serious climbers looking to enhance their skills and fitness in a home environment.
  • Question: Can I use the Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board for weight training?

Answer: While the primary function of the Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board is to enhance grip strength and climbing technique, it can be used in conjunction with bodyweight exercises to improve overall fitness. However, it’s not specifically designed for weight training and should not be used to support heavy weights. Instead, consider incorporating pull-ups and varied grip exercises to target specific muscle groups. This board can be an integral part of a broader training regimen, especially for those focusing on increasing pull strength and body control.
  • Question: Is the Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board adjustable?

Answer: The Metolius Wood Grips Deluxe II Training Board itself is not adjustable, but its various holds are designed to offer diverse grip options. This versatility allows users to adapt their training depending on their specific needs, such as targeting crimp strength or open-hand grip. Climbers can reposition their body and changing angles during workouts to achieve different training effects. This feature is particularly beneficial for workouts that require a mix of strength and skill development, making it a versatile tool for climbers at every level.
